(Sept 2022)

The Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association (BLTA) is introducing the ITF World
Tennis Number (WTN) – a brand new, inclusive and modern ranking system for all
players in Bermuda.

The ITF together with various grand slam nations and other leading tennis
nations have collaborated in the development of the new ranking system, which
will be used by national associations around the world to help create a global
ranking system.

It is a single tennis ranking for all players, regardless of age, ability or
gender – from the world’s elite to a player taking part in their first
competition. The scale will see players given a rating from 40 to 1, with
recreational players starting close to 40 and the professionals being close to 1.

The adaptation of the WTN by the BLTA will help to improve the ranking for
those involved in local BLTA and club competitions, coaching reviews, team
selections and also all players participating internationally.
