ITF Team Championships: With the two initial losses in the qualifying round, Bermuda was eliminated from the main draw. They are now in an 8 team playoff group for placement of positions 9-16. The group includes Jamaica, Barbados, Panama, Honduras, Guyana, US Virgin Islands and Curacao.
In the first round of the playoffs, Bermuda faced US Virgin Islands. Ben Jones open play for Bermuda taking on Kaiel Wheatley. Ben proved too strong for his opponent on the day playing to a 6-0, 6-2 victory and giving Bermuda the lead in the fixture at 1-0. Next up was Trey Mallory facing off against Adrian Rickets. Mallory made quick work of this match and cruised to a 6-2,6-0 victory and securing the fixture win for Bermuda. The doubles rubber match Ben Jones and Nick Cooper continued the team’s winning ways by coming away with a 6-4, 6-1 victory and thus giving Bermuda a 3-0 victory.
