ITF Team Championships: In Bermuda’s opening round match, they faced 8th seed Nicaragua in Group B play.
First up for Bermuda was Ben Jones who faced Ronny Hernadez. Jones despite a good effort went down 6-2, 6-0.
Trey Mallory was up next facing Etienne Dietsch. In a match lasting close to two and half hours, Trey defeated Etienne 2-6,6-1,6-2 to level the score at 1 match all.
Going into the deciding Doubles match Ben Jone and Trey Mallory faced off against Ronney Hernandez and Etienne Dietsch. After splitting sets the match went to a match tie-break which saw Nicaragua edge out Bermuda 10-6 giving them the match and fixture win, 2-1.
Bermuda’s next match is against number 2 seed Bahamas.
