In what turn out to be an exciting day of tennis on Sunday the Under 30’s team edged out the Over 30’s by a margin of 3 matches to 2 to claim bragging rights for the year!
With the score all tied at 2-2, the fixture came down to the final match between David Thomas/Alex Cooper vs Michael Way/David Jenkins. Way/Jenkins got off to a quick start and won the first set 6-3. They continued their high level of play in the second set by getting an early break which they held until earning match point. At that point, the tide began to turn as Thomas\Cooper were able to fend off match point and then force a second set tie-break, which Thomas /Cooper won setting up a crowd pleasing 3rd set super tie-breaker for the match. Thomas/Cooper had the momentum at this point and went on to win the match and fixture for the Under 30’s.
