BLTA’s 2016 XMAS CLASSIC (DOUBLE ELIMINATION)

In what turn out to be one of the most competitive local tournaments in recent history, the Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association just completed the 2016 XMAS Double Elimination Classic at the W.E.R. Joell Tennis Stadium.
This 2-week event which is held over the holiday season saw many of Bermuda top young junior return to the island and compete. The tournament which uses a unique double elimination format provides all players with the ability to remain in the tournament after a single loss. The tournament’s final saw Billy Boyle upset number 1 seed David Thomas, 7-5.0-6.6-4 to capture the top honors.
